Never Knew Love Till It Happened
When I was younger, I arrogantly believed that 'love was just all that'. What more could there be to it? There was romance, there was sacrifice, there was comfort, there was someone there to hold you. Television and books taught you enough to know, what love was.
Media, adult figures, they teach you about love. That it is a feeling of wow. Of course they all tell you that when you fall in love - you get married, pop out a couple of babies, and grow old together.
But we re-invented that.
Our generation began 'test husbands' and '10 girlfriends by 15'. Soon we became disillusioned of love. Especially those (ahem, myself, cough) who have never had a single lover. Common thoughts were "Love? Blah. It's a media gimmick, just like Christmas." In our minds, it couldn't possibly live up to its hype.
And so I never knew that part of me was missing, till I fell in love with you.
Love is like a body part. It's like a third arm, another leg, an eye in the middle of your forehead. You are disoriented when it isn't there. It helps you get through the day easier, and spots the things you don't see.
Love is kissing. The playful tugging of a lip. The emotional press when facing separation. The frantic coupling of these soft buds when aroused.
Love is you. Soft brown eyes. Metal mouth. Sexy wavy hair. Pouty lips. Bubble butt. The warmth of your body.
When you went home, and I had to sleep alone, my mattress felt wrong. Gillian, you complete me. Love you babe.
